Volunteers are needed to stuff over 3,000 Easter Eggs, to distribute baskets to the participating businesses on Sunday, to hide the Eggs in the field for the two Easter Egg Hunts, and for clean up. We will be stuffing eggs at A Show of Hands this Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 7 pm, will need volunteers at Noon at the field and then people to help at 2 pm with clean up. If you are able to volunteer, please e-mail events@visitdelray.com and let us know how you would like to help.
Children of ALL ages are invited to hop over to Del Ray this Sunday, April 17th for the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association, this is a fun community event you won’t want to miss and is free to all.
The day starts with two separate Easter Egg Hunts for the little ones on the grassy field next to Bean Creative which is located at 2213 Mt. Vernon Avenue. At 1 pm, children 6 years and under will get to hunt for eggs and then at 1:30 pm, children 7-10 years old will get their chance. Each child will also get a raffle ticket to become eligible to win several prizes including a 2 foot chocolate bunny compliments of ACKC Artfully Chocolate and books donated by Friends of Duncan Library. The drawings will take place at 2 pm on the field.
Also joining the two Easter Egg Hunts will be a very special guest that you won’t want to miss – our very own Easter Bunny!!! Be sure and bring your cameras so you can get a photo of your child with the Easter Bunny.
In addition to the two Easter Egg hunts for kids, specific businesses on the Avenue will offer adults, families and dogs a special Easter Egg hunt. From 1-4 pm, certain identified shops along Mt. Vernon Avenue will provide Easter eggs filled with candy and/or coupons and separate baskets of doggie treats for our favorite four legged members of the community.
Flyers will be available beginning at 1 pm on Sunday at the grassy field next to Bean Creative which will provide the names and addresses of all the businesses that will be handing out Easter Eggs or doggie treats. The event will last until 4 pm or until the businesses run out of Easter Eggs or doggie treats.
